  • 2 tablespoons Olive or Avocado Oil Any neutral oil can be used.
For the Seasoning
  • 2 tablespoons Smoked Paprika Regular paprika can be substituted if necessary.
  • 1 tablespoon Table Salt Kosher salt is a natural alternative.
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper White pepper can be used for a milder taste.
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder Fresh garlic can be used in its place.
For the BBQ Sauce
  • 1 cup Ketchup Tomato sauce can be used for a lower sugar option.
  • 1/4 cup Apple Cider Vinegar White vinegar can be a good substitute.
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce Soy sauce can be used as a gluten-free option.
  • 1/4 cup Brown Sugar Honey or maple syrup can be used as alternatives.
  • 2 tablespoons Chipotle Peppers in Adobo Use less for a milder version.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Baking sheet
  • Aluminum foil
  • Blender

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 275°F (135°C) and line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil.
  2. Remove the thin membrane from the back of the baby back ribs and trim any excess fat.
  3. Pat the ribs dry and brush with olive or avocado oil, then sprinkle seasoning mixture over both sides.
  4. Place the ribs, meaty side up, on the baking sheet, cover with foil, and bake for 2 hours.
  5. While the ribs bake, blend ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, chipotle peppers, smoked paprika, and garlic powder in a blender.
  6. Increase the oven temperature to 325°F (160°C). Brush ¼ cup of BBQ sauce over the ribs and bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes.
  7. Broil for 3-4 minutes for caramelization, watching closely to prevent burning.
  8. Let the ribs rest for a few minutes before serving with remaining BBQ sauce.
