Preparation
- In a small saucepan, combine fresh strawberries with balsamic vinegar over medium heat. Cook for about 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens to a jam-like consistency.
- Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly while preparing the fresh strawberries.
- In a mixing bowl, slice remaining strawberries and toss with chopped basil, honey, and a pinch of salt. Let sit at room temperature for around 10 minutes.
- On a large serving plate, layer the marinated strawberries and place torn or cut burrata cheese on top.
- Drizzle some thickened balsamic strawberries over the top. Drizzle extra virgin olive oil and sprinkle with black pepper and sea salt.
- Serve immediately with toasted bread on the side.
