Cooking Steps
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and butter, melting for about 1-2 minutes until shimmering.
- Place the skin-side of salmon fillets into the hot skillet. Sear for 3-4 minutes until golden brown. Flip and sear the other side for an additional 2 minutes.
- Pour in fresh orange juice and simmer for about 1 minute until reduced by half.
- Add crushed garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Move salmon to one side of the skillet, add honey and soy sauce to the other side, stirring to combine. Let it simmer for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
- Spoon the glaze over the salmon fillets, cooking for an extra minute to reach an internal temperature of 125-130°F.
- Remove from heat, serve on a platter, drizzling remaining glaze over the salmon and garnish with fresh orange slices.
