  • 1 pound Ground Beef can be substituted with ground turkey or lentils
  • 1 medium Onion diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic minced
  • 1 packet Taco Seasoning store-bought or homemade
  • 1 cup Tomato Sauce/Salsa spicier salsa kicks up the flavor
For the Taco Shells
  • 12 shells Hard Taco Shells ensure they're fresh
For the Toppings
  • 2 cups Shredded Cheese Mexican blend or cheddar
  • 1 cup Fresh Toppings (Lettuce, Tomatoes, Red Onion, Cilantro) customizable

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Arrange the hard taco shells upright in a baking dish.
  3. Cook ground beef and diced onions in a skillet over medium heat for 5-7 minutes until beef is browned.
  4. Add minced garlic and taco seasoning to the skillet and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Pour in tomato sauce or salsa and simmer for 5 minutes over low heat, stirring occasionally.
  6. Carefully fill each taco shell with the beef mixture.
  7. Sprinkle shredded cheese over each filled taco shell.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until cheese melts and shells are golden brown.
  9. Remove from oven and top with fresh toppings before serving warm.
