For the Salmon
  • 4 fillets Salmon Fresh, wild-caught Pacific salmon is ideal.
  • 1-2 tablespoons Butter Can be substituted with olive oil.
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Pepper
For the Glaze
  • 1 orange Orange Juice Freshly squeezed for best flavor.
  • 2 tablespoons Honey Can be replaced with maple syrup.
  • 2 tablespoons Soy Sauce Low-sodium preferred.
  • 2 cloves Garlic Minced.
  • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch Optional, mix with water before adding.

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat, adding 1-2 tablespoons of butter or olive oil.
  2. Season the salmon fillets with salt and pepper on both sides, then place them skin-side up in the hot skillet.
  3. Cook for 3-5 minutes until golden-brown, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes until done.
  4. Remove salmon from skillet and tent with aluminum foil to keep warm.
  5. In the same skillet, whisk together orange juice, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and cornstarch slurry.
  6. Heat the mixture until it begins to bubble, about 30-60 seconds.
  7. Return salmon to the skillet, coating with glaze, and let heat for another minute.
  8. Plate the salmon, optionally garnishing with chopped parsley.
