Ingredients

For the Quiche Filling
  • 6 large Eggs Consider flax eggs for a vegan alternative.
  • 1 cup Heavy Cream Substitute half-and-half for a lighter consistency.
  • 1 cup Bell Peppers Swap with spinach or mushrooms for different flavors.
  • 0.5 cup Onion Use green onions for milder taste.
  • 1 cup Ham Can be exchanged for cooked bacon or vegetarian options.
  • 2 cups Cheddar Cheese Try Monterey Jack or Swiss for unique twists.
For the Pie Crust
  • 1 package Store-bought Pie Crust Convenient, flaky base; homemade crust can elevate flavor.

Equipment

  • Oven
  • Skillet
  • 9-inch pie dish
  • Mixing bowl

Method

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Begin by preheating your oven to 375°F (190°C). In a skillet over medium heat, sauté one cup of diced bell peppers and half a cup of diced onions until soft and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  2. Take a pre-baked pie crust and lay it in a 9-inch pie dish. Spread one cup of diced ham over the bottom of the crust, followed by half of your shredded cheese.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, crack six large eggs and whisk with one cup of heavy cream until combined and slightly frothy.
  4. Stir the cooled sautéed bell peppers and onions into your egg mixture. Pour this over the ham and cheese in the pie crust.
  5. Sprinkle the remaining cheese generously over the top of the quiche.
  6. Place the quiche in the oven and bake for 30-35 minutes until the edges are set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Remove the quiche from the oven and let it cool for about 20 minutes on a wire rack before serving.
